At the Southover Partnership, we offer counselling to students who may need a little extra support with their mental well-being.

The sessions provide students with a safe space to talk through, and process things that they might find difficult or uncomfortable with. The sessions enable students to problem solve and set and achieve personal goals.

The sessions can also be seen as a platform to track and understand feelings and emotions, and the aim is to reduce stress and anxiety levels. The sessions can help students with their day-to-day life, forming and maintaining relationships as well as building confidence while being empowered.

They take place on a weekly basis within the school day, and where possible, on the same day and time regularly. Each session often involves the student picking an activity that they enjoy while using this time to talk and work through whatever they need to.
